Mr Jamal is a seasoned hospitality professional who has worked with IHCL (Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces) India’s leading hotel Group for over three decades and for over six years with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, the leading hospitality group of South East Asia headquartered in Hong Kong. Prior to his superannuation from IHCL in 2019 he was the Sr Vice President (West) and Africa and also overseeing the Group’s Security and Jiva Spa business. He has a strong operations background handling a diverse portfolio of Luxury Hotels, Palaces, Resorts to Upscale and Economy brands in India and overseas. 

He also worked as Group Advisor- Hospitality, Hiranandani Group, Mumbai for assisting the Group to set up one of India’s largest integrated township projects which has a cluster of hospitality offerings in Alibagh, off the coast of Mumbai and as President and COO of The Lalit Group. He has also served on Boards of several subsidiary companies of IHCL namely Piem Hotels Ltd, Taj Trade and Transport, Northern India Hotels Ltd.

Alumini of the Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa, New Delhi and a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) from American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute. He has undergone the Cornell University Summer Programme for Senior Managers and Cornell University Programme at the National University of Singapore for General Managers. Mr. Jamal has received several awards and accolades over the years for his outstanding contribution to the hospitality industry.
